The Organisation Capability Diagnostic:

Operating in an increasingly competitive environment, all organisations need to improve their business performance and productivity.

  • Identifies the ‘capability gap’ between current performance and an organisation’s realistic performance levels.
  • Prioritises business improvement initiatives.
  • Involves employees in the assessment of their organisation in seven key areas:
    • Leadership Development
    • Organisation Culture
    • Succession Planning and Knowledge Management
    • Customer / Market Orientation
    • Innovation
    • Processes
    • Environment / Climate Change

The benefits of the Organisation Capability Diagnostic include:

  • Involving employees in the review and performance improvement process for their organisation.
  • Assessing the current performance of an organisation in key capability areas.
  • Establishing realistic goals for future performance in key capability areas.
  • Raising awareness of issues for an organisation to consider in areas integral to business sustainability and success.
  • Providing a base-line for monitoring business improvement in future organisational reviews.

In consultation with an organisation’s Human Resources unit, the Corporate Capability Diagnostic also establishes a demographic profile of the organisation, including the age distribution of the workforce, workforce attrition rates and employee retirements and resignations, which can become a baseline for future reviews and workforce planning.

The Corporate Capability Diagnostic investigates the number of employees currently undertaking education and training programs and the percentage of payroll invested by the organisation on education, training and development programs.

The information obtained is then presented to the organisation to guide the investment and priorities in corporate development to ensure future development and training is relevant and aligned with the strategic goals of the organisation.
